Nepal jest niedużym krajem położonym u stóp Himalajów, pomiędzy Tybetem a Indiami. Każdy, kto go odwiedził, uznał go za kraj magiczny. Wbrew powszechnej opinii, nie składa się on z samych wysokich gór, jest bardzo zróżnicowany geograficznie. Ale to właśnie góry przywołują ludzi z całego świata swoimi majestatycznymi kształtami i wysokościami.
Na północy kraju znajdują się najwyższe góry świata, w tym 8 z 14 światowych ośmiotysięczników. Tu króluje najwyższy szczyt świata – Mount Everest – o wysokości 8848 m n.p.m.
Wspinacze ruszają do Nepalu, by zdobyć również Ama Dablam (6 812 m). Bardzo popularne są trekkingi i wyprawy górskie do Sanktuarium Annapurny oraz osławionego Everest Base Camp.
Nie można pominąć również Kathmandu – pięknej i magicznej stolicy kraju, a także Pokhary – małej miejscowości położonej nad jeziorem, w pobliżu gór.
